Dim Sum, Sham Shui Po (2011-02-04)
November 19, 2010Last day in Hong Kong T_T
Today we had to check out of the hotel, but our flight wasn't until
0105am (Nov 20), so we practically had the entire day to spend before
leaving the city.
First, one more dim sum meal for a very early breakfast at nearby Mu
Dan Ting and then to Mongkok so C could get some last-minute food
shopping. She went crazy and bought huge amount of cooked food
(sticky rice things, BBQ meat and tons of bread!)
We quickly returned to the hotel, checked out of our room, stowed
our hand luggage in the hotel's storage room, and caught the free
shuttle to Kowloon Station and checked in our bags at Cathay Pacific's
counter. (You can even check in your bags a day before)
With our luggage out of the way, what to do next? More
shopping of course! C wanted to buy cheap clothes so I took her
to Sham Shui Po to browse in the (hundreds of?) shops that line Cheung
Sha Wan Road. Although most of them only deal with wholesalers,
the majority of them have a rack or two of clothings in front of the
shops that ordinary shoppers like us can buy. C ended up buying
three tops that were 1/10 of what they'd have cost in Tokyo!
