My Neighbor Thanked Me With Udon (2007-09-23)
To thank me for looking after her cats, my neighbor returned from her trip with a pack of udon. This udon is flat and wide, not the normal round type. The packet instruction only teaches you how to cook it soup style with the accompanied packet of miso. I don't like miso much so I threw it out and stirfried the udon Shanghai style.
The noodles have a very chewy texture, much like the way Taiwanese
people would describe as "QQ". They're good eats when freshly
cooked but turned into a hard starchy mess after reheating in the
microwave. Perhaps I should just eat them in soup next time.
