LaQua Tokyo Dome City (2008-05-01)

KL's cousin Samuel from Hong Kong came to Tokyo on his own for the extended  weekend.  KL spent almost all weekend with him while I joined them on Saturday only.

One of the places we visited was LaQua Tokyo Dome City in Korakuen on Marunouchi (kanji) subway line.  The huge Tokyo Dome is what I remember years ago where baseball matches are held inside.  They've since added LaQua shopping mall, a spa and rides in the area to make up a fairly large entertainment complex.

There's no entrance fee.  Essentially you can start roaming the area as soon as you walk up the footbridge that connects the station to the complex.  It is highly recommended that you get the one day pass (3000Yen) which enables you unlimited rides instead of getting individual tickets to each ride if you are a ride fanatic like Samuel.  However he didn't get the pass as the three signature rides--Thunder Dolphin, Tower Hacker and Sky Flower-- were out of operation due to strong winds that day.  He figured he'd only do a couple of rides but turned out he did almost all of them!  Most of the rides cost 600 or 800Yen, I think he ended up spending more money on tickets than the cost of a pass.

The website on Tokyo Dome City ( http://www.tokyo-dome.co.jp/e/laqua/ ) will give you more info on the park, check it out if you're interested.  The Japanese version gives even more detailed description.
