Not So Current Affairs: RF1 Food Shop (2011-12-24)
This post is not about the popular food shop RF1 you see in many department stores' food section, but about the fastidiousness of Japanese journalism. In RF1, there's this mixed salad you can buy that they claim contain
thirty ingredients from Kyoto. The reporter bought a 100gm (3.5
oz) and had their staff laboriously dig out the impossibly small pieces
of ingredients to see if there really was at least thirty items in the
salad and of course there was.
On another show, I saw two reporters lay out all the kernels and
silk neatly and separately on the floor to count their numbers, just to
prove that there's one silk for each kernel!
What other country has reporters doing this kind of thing?
