Jiyugaoka (2010-07-17)

Eleven years ago when we first moved to Tokyo, Jiyugaoka wasn't on my "place to visit" list.  Back then it was a quiet suburb and didn't seem too interesting to me.  Eleven years later, it is a whole new story with bustling shopping streets, restaurants and cafes.  So finally, we visited it the first time since we came to live in this city.

The majority of the shops in Jiyugaoka centers around housewares, interior design and clothing.  If you're like me who love those stores, Jiyugaoka is a happy place; otherwise it could be a bit boring for your partner whose interest is in geek and tech stuff like KL.

Besides the busy shopping area surrounding the station, the best way to explore Jiyugaoka is to be adventurous.  Forget about following the map, just go into side streets and alleys.  You never know, there may be a jem hidden in a quiet little street that has just the thing you've been looking for.

P.S. I'll put up individual posts on shops I took multiple pictures of or I find it particularly interesting to browse.
