Smoked Salmon Pizza And Dry Burger (2007-04-27)
The majority of Japanese restaurants (99.9%) mix pork mince with beef when they make patties or meatballs, a practice tolerated by me but detested by KL, so when my burger craving hits, we go to Wolfgang Puck for their chargrilled 100% beef burgers.Last time we went there, my burger was even more cooked than the
time before that which resulted in
a dry patty. I just hope it does not signal a downward spiral of
their food quality. KL, always wanting to try new stuff, ordered
a smoked salmon pizza.
WP never claims to be an Italian restaurant, so they are forgiven
for bringing him a pizza which neither looked nor tasted like the real
thing. In fact the pizza is more like a very distant relative of
traditional pizzas and a close sibling of the classic New York bagel
and cream cheese with lox.
His pizza is nothing more than a crispy flat bread topped with dill
speckled sour cream strewn with smoked salmon over it. KL said
the taste was okay but he would not order this glorified hors d'oeuvres
again. If my next burger's tastiness continues to slip, I might
have to resume the quest for awesome burgers in Tokyo again.
