Godiva vs Meiji (2008-02-17)
On the red corner, we have a 399Yen(US$3.75) 125ml Godiva Belgian Dark Chocolate ice-cream; on the blue corner, we have a 100Yen($0.94) 200ml Meiji Chocolate ice-cream with dark chocolate cookie bits. Both have similar mouthfeel. Both are smooth and
velvety.
Godiva is distinctively more bitter than Meiji. But I like the
cookie essence in the latter. Meiji also beats Godiva hands-down
on price and volume. Since I always buy Meiji at the end of the
month in my supermarket when there is a 20% discount on ice-cream, it
makes Godiva a whopping 8 times more expensive than Meiji!!
Verdict: The blue corner wins!
