Mid Autumn Festival (2005-09-18)
Happy Otsukimi! Not that people say that to each other today (Otsukimi day), I just like saying that to you. I hope you have a nice evening enjoying the big round moon and eat lots of good food in this Mid Autumn Festival.I saw some "moon cakes" on sale in a store and wouldn't even
contemplate getting one. I just KNOW they won't be anything like those
in Hong Kong which is made of lotus seed paste. These so-called
moon cakes in Japan will no doubt taste awful to me.
Whenever I travel to HK, I get one from a specialty shop, one that
is famous for making them. They are very expensive but well worth
the price, especially if you have the acquired taste for it.
Tonight's moon will once again remind me of the real yummy moon cakes
from Hong Kong.
