Chun Yeung Street, Egg Tart (2011-01-24)
Chun Yeung Street in North Point
is lined with fresh food stalls
such as fish mongers
and semi-prepared food stores
Shoppers are not fazed by oncoming trams
Bought oranges from this stall
Fruit and produce are so very cheap compared to Tokyo prices
Wonder if these corn cobs are sweet?
Saw some strange vegetables
Salted fish is easily found
Didn't get a chance to ride on one, darn!
A random bakery in North Point
has the best egg tarts in C's opinion
The shell is made of short crust pastry I think and the warm jiggly custard was neither too sweet nor bland, and only HK$5(US60cents) for 3!
So much baked goods to try, so little stomach space...SIGH
An officer from the Health Department examined the shop while we were there
Bought these fruits in North Point
Look at the size of that orange
C said I'm the only person in the world to peel rose apples (but their skin is bitter!)
The baby papaya was super sweet (HK$10/US$1.25 for 4)
Guava though very fragrant, not terribly sweet
