Le Parc (2012-06-19)
Who knew a quaint little restaurant in a quiet street serves great dim sum?
Four tables on the ground floor behind the partition
Upstairs
Wall decorations are nothing Chinese-y
We ordered this set: 7 dim sum varieties sampler plate 2620Yen/US$33
And rice rolls to begin our meal 780Yen/US$10
Some other dim sum
on the menu
The table setting brings back memory of Hong Kong
French words on the chopstick sleeve
Rice rolls were a disappointment, the sheets were not slippery smooth and the soy sauce tasted like Japanese dashi. Totally not re-orderable
The steamed dim sum sampler was however a winner, everything tasted great
Crab meat and roe dumpling
was full of crunchy prawns
Shrimp dumpling was the same story with an added touch of bamboo shoots
Chives dumpling was also full of prawns
The squid and shiso dumpling was our least favorite
only because we don't like shiso. If you like this pungent herb, you'll like this dim sum
After the steamed dim sum, the fried things arrived
Everything was super crispy and delicious, the spring roll was full of prawns too
so was this one
cross section
Sticky rice ball was a tad soft but tasted great
Charsui bun 560Yen/US$7
The bun was super fluffy but the sesame oil flavor in the filling was overpowering
Pork dumplings 560Yen
It tasted exactly like those in Hong Kong, very yummy
Facing JR Ebisu Station's West Exit is this shopping street, cross to the other side, keep walking away from the station
and you'll soon see this building. Turn into this side street and Le Parc is on the left
