Hiking Mount Tsukuba Part 4 (2012-12-04)
Cable car ticket window
Cute poodle
Staff helps put dogs in carry cases
Dogs and owners ready to take the cable car down the mountain
We took a mini trail from Miyukigahara to see a wishing rock which is said to be 500m away but we never found it
The mini trail starts off tame then gets steep with lots of steps
Failing to see the rock, we back tracked
and headed
toward Female mountain
First sightseeing spot on the way is Katakurinosato, this is where one can see wild purple lilies from late March to late April
Then there's this Sekireinoishi (Rock of the Japanese Wagtail)
Legend says a Wagtail stood on this rock to teach people about men and women (alright then)
After that, there's this restaurant/shop
near this tiny shrine
The last sightseeing spot is this Frog Rock
Description for those who understand Japanese
More steep climb?!
Almost there
Past this little shrine
is the summit! For the life of me I just couldn't get up those rocks, my legs turn to jelly about 20 feet from those people. I guess I'm acrophobic?
Mount Tsukuba 877m high
The helicopter again, just over our heads
