A typical house with pine decoration/protection in the New Year
This little shop on the second story is well protected from evil spirits who can't even get past the staircase
Giant Kadomatsu in front of Myoyoji Shrine in our neighborhood
A laundromat also has Kadomatsu to protect it
A single pine for this garage, there isn't one on the other side
Even a vending machine has a pine at its side. I think people are pretty superstitious here
This stall owner is setting up shop to sell pine boughs
Someone puts out some cut pine for anyone interested. The sign says:Please take it home as live plant decoration for the New Year
