Souvenir From Okinawa (2008-10-06)
Our neighbor Ms Y just came back from vacation in Okinawa. I was, as usual, minding her two cats while she's away. The work is simple: I go feed them, change their water and clean the litterbox twice a day. It is a job I actually quite enjoy because it gives me a chance to see her cats.Ms Y brought me food uniquely Okinawa which included soba, salt and
an adorable puffer fish butter knife as souvenir. She then
returned with a nashi pear and a persimmon after she went grocery
shopping! She knows we love food!
I'm most interested in the gouya (bitter gourd) noodles, I wonder if they are bitter?
