To Osaka From Haneda Airport, Hearton Hotel (2009-03-29)
Somehow the trip from home till we boarded the plane in Haneda airport to Osaka where we were to meet my sister Serlina and her hubby David can be summed up in one word: RUSH.Perhaps we had underestimated the time needed in various steps along
the way including the ride on the limousine bus which took double as
long due to traffic. I almost jogged to our local train station,
ran to the limousine bus stop, then totally ran out of time in Haneda
airport to have lunch in a Chinese restaurant I googled the day
before. So we ended up wolfing down our lunch at a coffee shop
closest to the
departure gate.
When we were going through security, KL's pocket screwdriver had escaped his mind and he was held up by the officers. Fortunately they gave him the option of having it sent back home (COD), but the process took a few minutes more than we could afford and I ran again to the gate. We were of course the last to arrive (right on 1330pm on a 1330pm departing flight) when the plane was supposed to be leaving!
As we emerged from Osaka International Airport, also known as Itami
Airport, the weather was warm and pleasant. The bus stops and
ticket machines are located just outside the building and are easy to
find. The bus stop number and destination are clearly indicated
on the screen above the machines, so there's almost no confusion as
where to board the bus.
We misread the departure time and thought there was at least 10 minutes to spare, so KL took his time inside the building to the restroom. When he was strolling toward the bus stop, I had to beckon him to run because our bus was about to leave! Since a staff already stowed our suitcase in the bus belly, the driver couldn't just take off, essentially we were holding up a busload of people! /_\!
The 20-minute ride went past in a blink as we soaked in the
unfamiliar sceneries. After we got off, we headed toward the
station to look for the taxi stand but saw a cab idling on the street
just
a few meters from the bus, so we got on that one to go to our hotel.
Hearton Hotel at Shinsaibashi is a standard business hotel in a
great location. It's only a minute (possibly less) to
subway Sinsaibashi Station and is pretty much in the heart of shopping
streets and two
department stores. Staff were friendly and polite too. Our
room may be small, but it has just about everything a traveler
needs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Access to Hearton Hotel: Exit #7 of Shinsaibashi Station on Midosuji subway line. Once on street level, turn right. The hotel is just inside the first alley on the right (also directly across Daimaru department store).
