Coconut Snacks (2010-05-29)
The Japanese palate has yet to discover the awesomeness of two foods: spicy food and coconut.
You can't find fresh chilies or coconuts in supermarkets.
Spicy food on the menu is uncommon and even if the dish's name says
spicy or hot, it's usually just mild. (Oh how I miss all the
spicy food in other Asian cities...) Coconut-flavored snacks are
almost impossible to buy in any stores which is a shame cause I love
them.
But I recently discovered a few coconut sweets from Thailand
online! Yay! The sesame coconut rolls are delicious but the
chocolate sandwich cookies are too overwhelmingly chocolatey and lack
coconut flavor.
