Hong kong Government Gives Away Money (2011-11-14)
Two reasons we cut short our stay in Sydney to go to Hong Kong: open bank accounts and see Marco, KL's brother who happened to stopover in Hong Kong on a business trip in China.
Why did we open bank accounts? Because Hong Kong government is
giving people over 18 with a HK ID card $6000/US$778! This is not
a stimulus plan to boost the local economy, that's why even those who
have emigrated like us qualify for the plan. We don't plan to get
the check at their post office in person, so we needed a sole name
account for them to transfer the money to us.
