Tsukuba Express Line (2006-04-20)
KL had to travel to Tsukuba for work one day and took the rather new Tsukuba Express train which runs from Akihabara () to Tsukuba terminal. He took some photos of the station so he can post them today. Below are some facts about the station:Train operation commences: 24th August, 2005
Line coverage: From Akihabara to Tsukuba 58.3 km
Stations on the line: 20
Highest speed: 130 km/hr
Travel time: 45 minutes on the express train
Note: Tsukuba is touted as Japan's Science City in the 1970's.
Nowadays it is the home to the Tsukuba University (and other colleges
and Laboratories), research centers, government institutes that do
research stuff and a host of high-tech facilities where lots of nerds
and geeks work. In another word, it is a place I have no interest
of visiting ever.
