Singapore Shopping (2008-12-14)
This time our shopping was not just about grocery. The inedible items we got included clothing, a bag, shoes, socks and kitchen things. I also "smuggled" in vegetables, fruits and of course Bee Cheng Hiang jerky (Bak Kwa), hahahaha! Even Daifoo got gifts too. Here are some tips I gathered after this trip which might help you
with your trip to Singapore.
- Carrefour in Suntec City Mall has the best varieties of grocery and the lowest prices compared to Cold Storage and Robinson.
- Bee Cheng Hiang in the basement in Takashimaya () tastes the best amongst all other branches I tried. It has a chargrill smoky flavor that some others lack.
- Buses are a better transportation means than MRT and there's no pesky interchange like you do with trains.
- Taxi impose a lot of surcharges depending on the time and place you catch one.
- Try the roast goose, roast pork and suckling pig (and possibly BBQ pork and chicken) at Crystal Jade Palace on the 4th floor of Takashimaya!
- T3 at Changi has the best food options.
