Taiwan Apple Mangoes (2009-08-05)
I've eaten my fair share of mangoes in the world, from those tiny ones from Phillipines to Mexican mangoes, and of course those from Australia and Thailand etc, often times in their native countries. My Taiwanese girlfriend told me if I ever found Apple Mangoes, I must try them. Find I did and without hesitation ordered a box from the same shop I got the Dragon Lychees.
The box arrived safe and sound, securely packaged without any
bruised ones. They were also very large, at least over a pound
each. The meat was a deep orange and the fragrance, oh boy, the
fragrance was heady! The crazy mango aroma superbly complimented
the super sweet and juicy flesh. They truly were the best mangoes
I've eaten so far.
My friend says the wholesale fruit markets in Taipei are heaven for fruit lovers as Taiwan grows some excellent quality tropical fruits that many people outside Taiwan have yet to discover. And I tend to believe her.
