Anything We Can Do For Daifoo (2009-07-06)
Note: Daifoo passed away on July 4th. This and the following three posts were written while he was still receiving treatment, but I just never got around to posting them. I don't know why that happened.
KL spent an afternoon clearing the space next to the TV in the upstairs tatami room so that he could move the desk to that spot and set up a laptop for me to use there. The reason being I can keep Daifoo's company while he rests/sleeps long hours in his bed. (Yes, he LOVES to be with me.) When he was well, he used to call me from one of the steps on the staircase (while I was working on the computer on the dining table) to take a nap with him in our bed, almost daily!
I also set up a feeding station and a second toilet in the room so
that he doesn't need to struggle with the steps to get to the one
downstairs. You may wonder why I didn't just move his bed
downstairs? I did and he didn't like it. He kept going back
to the tatami room to sleep.
If there's anything else we can do to make you more comfortable, Daifoo, we will.
