Pearl Milk Tea (2005-06-28)
The franchised coffee shop, Excelsior Caffe, has a new drink on its menu for the summer. It is iced milk tea with tapioca, a popular Taiwan drink with a beautiful name of Pearl Milk Tea. Since KL is a big fan of that beverage, we went to Excelsior just to try it out. I of course just sat with him and watched because I hate milk.
KL said the tapioca's melt-in-your-mouth softness is totally different from the famous chewy Taiwan version and the drink tends to be overly sweet. I don't think he'll be going back for a second cup any time soon. Like many other Asian food Japan eateries try to recreate, it just ain't working.
