Food On The Third Day In San Francisco (2005-11-12)
The bowl of clam chowder from Fisherman's Wharf was a great start of the day. The soup was rich, thick and creamy, and chock full of clams and vegetables. It was as good as the one I had 22 years ago.The picnic lunch was good too. I enjoyed the Wonder bread (my
favorite brand and the one I "grew up" eating in the US) as much as I
did the salad and fruits. Mom also brought Nilla Wafers, another
favorite little cookies of mine. For some reason, KL hates
them. He is weird.
The restaurant where we had our dinner was large, noisy and bustling
with diners. We were in
line for 30 minutes for our table but the food was worth the
wait. KL
and I shared a hamburger and a salad. I enjoyed the burger but KL
thought it was a little dry. I just loved the chargrilled meat
patty on a crispily toasted bun. It was so full of smoky
flavor. The shrimp and walnut cranberry salad was fresh but the
dressing was a bit tart. Nevertheless it was still a good salad
and very good value for the price. Our waiter gave us free soda
for no reason, that was a nice break for us.
Every meal we had in San Francisco so far was delicious. I had nothing but good things to say about them. Not one dish was less than tasty, that's the advantage of having local friends when you travel to a foreign city. They know where the good food is.
