Our shopping (2006-02-02)

I've decided the best time to visit Hong Kong is two weeks before Chinese New Year.  The weather is mild (although most local people believe 15C-20C is cold ) which makes strolling around town or going to the countryside/outlying islands a comfortable experience.

In addition to the usual plethora of food and snacks, special New Year food is put out in many bakeries, snack shops and food stores.  Special candies, candied food and dried sausages and ducks are my favorites; and you bet I got my share alright.

Almost every clothes shop has sale items, sometimes as much as 90% off.  I didn't buy any clothing but got a pair of loafers which I need for my weakened back.  Heels always give me back pain, I'm done with those.

We bought more Garden cookies than usual because we also got a 31 inch suitcase for all our grocery!  Twenty two packs of cookies this time, I wonder how long they'll last?
