Hawaii Day 5 (2006-11-12)

Oh man, it's day five already!  Why does vacation time always go so quickly?

We took our time strolling the grounds of Hilton and watched penguins being fed by professional penguin keepers.  These people take their penguins very seriously.  Each penguin is tagged and a strict record is kept on their weight, the amount of food they eat at each feeding and all their daily activities.  I got to feed a turtle half of a dead fishie.  Fun.

We also took a walk on the beach before we went to Legend in Chinatown for dim sum.  Again!  Holey moley!  We became a couple of Legend addicts!  (All the pictures of the dim sum we ate are in the first dim sum post.)  I overate on dim sum and felt stuffed for the next eight hours.  Serves me right!  Never overstuff yourself on yumcha like I did.  Not a good thing.

We then did long hours of walking, beaching etc like most tourists do.  Just before 8 pm, we showed up at the beach just outside the Super Pool and watched the five-minute fireworks organized by Hilton every Friday.  Only five minutes, but not bad.

Then we headed to the bus stop to catch a bus to Waikiki for dinner.  When we were waiting, it started to drizzle.  Worried that it might rain for a long time, we returned to the hotel and decided to get a take-out pizza for dinner.  KL also got cheesecake at the shop nextdoor.

The rain stopped after just a short while, maybe 15 minutes?  That was the second time we saw rain (first time was a half-hour shower the night before) and that's all the rain we had on our stay in Honolulu.
