Our Loot From Honolulu (2006-11-22)
We shopped a lot in Honolulu. We brought along an empty suitcase and filled it with 20.5 kg (45 lbs) worth of shopping in it. Most of our shopping is food (like what else? We are pigs). I didn't buy any useless jewelry or decorative things, but I did buy useless nail polish, hahaha. KL got a pair of shoes and a shirt for himself, and I got a bag which he helped pick out for me.I finally got a waffle maker from Walmart for 20 bucks, a fifth of
what you have to pay for one here. Now I can stop craving for
Eggo frozen waffles, I'll start making my own. Yay!
Remember the absence of hamburger buns in the supermarkets here that
I've been whining about? I should whine no more for maybe the
next three
weeks cuz I also brought back a pack of kaiser rolls, burger buns and a
loaf of Wonder bread! Now that's something you don't often see
tourists lugging home from Hawaii.
Our favorite Garden Malkist Crackers were also looted from a
store in Chinatown, and none got broken on the flight home. Very
happy indeed. With all the food we brought back, we are gonna be
fatter.
