Singapore Day 2-- New Zealand Natural Icecream, Crystal Jade, Takashimaya Shopping (2008-11-29)

Forgot to buy breakfast food the night before and didn't feel like having a big breakfast in the shops, so we wandered around Paragon mall (just across from our hotel) to see what they've got and I found New Zealand Natural Icecream, the brand I like.  So before we had lunch, I had two scoops of my favorite icecream: Choco'lite and Chocolate Ecstacy.  (Motto: When on holiday, eat icecream for brekkie!)

Crystal Jade left such a good impression in Hong Kong that I insisted we try the one in Singapore too (inside Takashimaya (kanji)).  Food was on the steep side (compared with other local food), but we liked it.  Dishes that are supposed to be spicy were SPICY.  Their version of chilli and chilli sauces are really very hot to me.  But I wanna eat like the locals, so no shying away from spicy food, no siree.

After lunch, we took in the scenery along Orchard Road and did some shopping mostly in Takashimaya department store which is right next to Meritus Mandarin.  Then it was rest time back in the hotel before we ventured out for dinner.
