Kyoto Tower Hotel, Dinner at Edogawa, Cakes (2009-04-11)
When we got back to Kyoto Station, it was time to check into our respective hotels. Serlina and David got their luggage from our room (as all the bags had been delivered to our room beforehand) and KL went with them to fetch a cab.Our room was much larger than expected and got pretty much
everything except a safe. And the view was fantastic! Our
balcony faces smack dab the center facade of Kyoto Station and it's
very relaxing to sit on the chair and look at the bustling people and
vehicles below.
The location of the hotel is very convenient. The subway exit
is only about 30 steps from the entrance and further down there are all
the bus stops and of course Kyoto Station itself. Not only will I
return to this hotel, I will request the same room too.
When we met up with Serlina again, we decided to check out another
food street in Kyoto Station called Kintetsu Shopping Street which is
of course right next to Kintetsu Line. The eel replica outside
Edogawa looked good to KL and David, so we went for it. I enjoyed
my food although they thought the tempura wasn't as good as Hageten's.
The chocolate cake KL got in Osaka's Sogo department store was so
good that I persuaded Serlina to try the exact same one I found in
Kyoto Station's Isetan's food basement. We had gotten cakes
before dinner so all we needed was to go back to our hotel and ate that
for dessert together. It was a lovely lovely night cap.
