Mak's Noodle, Dessert, Pacific Coffee (2010-01-11)
If it was up to me, I'd name wonton noodles the national food of Hong Kong. The wontons and chewy noodles have long history and are uniquely Hong Kong, and nobody does it better outside the city.Mak's Noodle is one of the top restaurants that makes a great bowl
of wonton noodles. The old store is still on Hong Kong island,
but now there's a branch in China Hong Kong City (mall) in Tsim Sha
Tsui!
We went there for lunch and were not disappointed. The wontons were medium-sized with two to three crunchy prawns in each and the noodles were springy without any dreadful alkaline taste. Our sets even came with my favorite vegetable, Chinese broccoli.
A few stalls down is Hui Lau Shan, the great mango-themed dessert
place that we love. KL ordered their triple mango dessert dish
and I the coconut and pomelo sweets, both were yum.
After dessert, KL went straight to Pacific Coffee for a cup of espresso before we left for our next destination.
