San Yeung Restaurant, Dessert (2011-01-27)
Just one stop from Mongkok is the location of our dinner destination: San Yeung Restaurant which is famous for their steamed fish sets and soup with rice sets.
We arrived around 8 pm and the line wasn't too bad. Since we
opted for the steamed fish sets, the proprietor who took our order
while we were in the queue asked us to wait in the seats outside and
she would call us when a two-person booth became free instead of having
us eat at the communal table.
About 20 minutes later, the very friendly lady called us in.
To our surprise, the steaming hot fish and rice were already laid on
the table. As soon as we were seated, she brought us the
housemade soup to complete the sets.
Ahhhhhh, the fish was beautifully soft and deliciously cooked.
I think it was the best meal I had in our stay in Hong Kong.
After dinner, we returned to Hui Lau Shan to sample more of their mango dessert but this time the mango ice cream was tart and so was the fresh mango. Fortunately the coconut ice cream was delicious.
