New Safety Gates For Our Subway (2006-07-18)
Some train lines are gradually building safety gates on the platforms. Our station has been installing these gates for the past months and they have been in operation for a week now.
Subways in other Asian countries such as Hong Kong and Singapore have full-length safety gates on the platforms for a very long time. Japan should have installed these gates much sooner considering the high number of people jumping onto tracks to commit suicide each year.
