Sausage Happy Bag (2007-01-15)
KL and I went to get a Happy Bag on Jan 2nd.Happy Bags are Mystery Bags to me. You don't know what's inside the bags, you just know there's big bargain to be had. Knowing me, I'd never fall for Happy Bags from clothing or shoe stores etc. The euphoria from having scored a bargain is great, but the disappointment from discovering that what you paid for isn't what you wanted is not so great.
BUUUT, if the Happy Bag is from a sausage specialty shop, you can
count me in because we love all kinds of ham and sausages!
Therefore, knowing such a shop in Takashimaya () Department Store had 200
sausage bags to give out in the New Year, KL and I made a bee line over
there soon after it was opened at 10.
There were tons of people in Takashimaya when we arrived and most of
them had already got their Happy Bags from other floors. I also
saw lines after lines of Bag hunters on the streets in front of stores
before they were even opened for business.
We got to the sausage shop at 1030 and I heard a customer ask the
counter staff if the Bags were already sold out. Happy Bags are
serious business for bargain hunters and you've gotta be quick if you
want yours! To our relief, there're still some Bags left and we
secured ours pronto.
I opened our Bag with great anticipation as soon as we got home. It contained four packs of different types of normal size sausages, a pack of big fat sausage, a pack of sliced salami and a log of smoked ham. All of it for just one low price of 3000Yen (US$27), it truly was a bargain. This is one Happy Bag that makes me happy!
