Farewell Dinner At Chijigenkai (2009-01-17)
Simple setting
The paper napkin came with two cute little pegs
I mean really little
so you can clip it on your clothes to prevent the napkin from sliding off your lap
A staff immediately brought us a basket to store our bags and attentively draped it with a cover
I don't remember which dish came with which course, they were brought to the table in such quick succession I lost track of which's which. This was liver served with chips
Winnie made a sandwich out of the liver
Appetizer: cold tofu and veggies
I ate almost raw chicken slices! And no, I didn't get food poisoning
Chicken and egg dish
Braised root vegetables, very salty
Some chilled prawn dish
Pretty presentation and all tasted good to me although the others rejected most of the pickled or sour stuff
The creamy yolk-on-dried shiitake mushroom was unusual but good
Some eggy soupy thing which I didn't taste
Grilled meat
The last dish was a big pot of delicious chicken stock with veggies and chicken
It's yummy
Three very large tofu balls
Soft innards
A staff came to cook the rice and eggs in the stock when we finished eating the meat and veggies
and then she dished out a bowl for everyone
There's seasoned minced chicken meat for topping
Winnie ate hers with spicy dips which she liked a lot
Dessert: Almond tofu with a sweet black bean
