This is the strongest barrier/retaining wall in the world

Real thing (as being used in Yamaguchi Prefecture)

The wall is made up of these concrete locking pins

Filled with stones or concrete rubble

the wall is 4m tall and 70m long

Another one is being utilized as a river's retaining wall

This fisherman says the number of fish in the river grew because of the wall which also protects the river from typhoon

It extends under the water where it also provides a habitat for fish

Built along streams,

it blends into the environment

The designer says the wall won't change even after 1000 years

The other type of barrier wall on the coast is destroyed by the tsunami

Although made of concrete, it's surprisingly weak
