Leftover candles

Melt them in simmering water

Remove the old wick base

Adjust the length of the candle to fit the container

Anchor it in the container with a bit of wax

Pour melted wax in it

The melted wax was enough to make a full cup and a bit

The hot wax is melting the candle as well, I have to hold it for a while to steady it

If you're using just a wick, use anything to anchor it such as a pen

or a pet comb. If you don't have a wick base, just "glue" the wick with wax on a coin or fold-up aluminum and place it in the container

The wax is set

The candle may be crooked, it still burns okay

and still aromatic
