Steamed Clams With Garlic (2007-03-20)
These clams are large
You can't open these stubborn suckers with a knife
Nope, neither can you do it with two spoons
I murdered them!
They must like the hot water bath, they cracked a smile
Very complicated innards
They have more stuff than the traditional clams that I know
Each clam has a hard thing in it which feels like plastic. I dunno if it's edible, but I ain't eating it
I put half the meat in the empty shell to make room for the toppings, then wine's sprinkled on each
Top them with rice vermicelli
Add some fried garlic (and chopped green onions)
Off they go to the steamer
A splash of hot oil and soy and some garnish of cilantro finish off the dish. Mmmmm
