Coffee And Cakes (2007-10-14)
KL looooves coffee and cakes in the afternoon, especially in a cozy cafe with good view. Yesterday after lunch, Serlina suggested cakes in Hurstville at a quaint little cafe run by Chinese who makes small and pretty cakes.ella's patisserie on the main shopping street near Hurstville
station sells limited varieties of cakes but they all look
pretty. Serlina got a hot chocolate and Sesame Mousse Cake while
KL
got coffee and Cookies n Cream Cheesecake. I don't like cakes so
I just sat with them. A$11 for all those plus comfortable
seating, it's a bargain.
We also went out for a late coffee and cake run with Serlina and
David the night before at a cafe inside Sir Stamford Hotel in Double
Bay. I don't know about their drinks, but my Mocha was delicious
and I'm not even a coffee drinker. KL wasn't going to get any
cakes since we were very full from dinner but he couldn't resist the
temptation in the cold case. At the end, he got a
chocolate/meringue/mousse cake which he shared with Serlina and
David. I took a teeny mouthful and hated it. Ah well.
Thank you David for the coffee.
Then on the day when we were in Bondi Junction Westfield, we joined
David who had been sitting by himself reading magazines and finishing
his coffee at Gloria Jean's Coffees inside Borders (bookstore) while we
went window shopping. KL ordered coffee, Serlina had her usual
hot
chocolate and I had thick Berry Frappe. I didn't like mine at all
and abandoned it quickly to go look at books.
Lastly, on the day before we left Sydney after lunch with parents
and Peter's family, KL told Serlina over the phone that we'd bring
afternoon tea to their shop for a last get-together session with
them. But Serlina suggested going to The Coffee Club in
Hurstville Westfield. So Peter, Rachel, KL and I had one last
chatty time with David and Serlina who closed up shop early to join
us. This time my Mocha
kinda sucked and I only managed to finish barely a third of this
crazy-sweet-with-barely-a-coffee-taste drink. Fortunately with
David's VIP card, six drinks and a cheesecake (for KL) only cost A$18
so I
don't feel too bad wasting my drink.
P.S. Pictures from the Sir Stamford Hotel were taken by Serlina as my camera's battery died.
