End Of A Drug Store (2008-02-21)
No wonder the little neighborhood drug store gave me so many free sample packets when I recently bought shampoo and conditioner from them: because it was closing down...(sad)
One day it looked fine, and the next day, its shelves were emptied
out and they had a mark-down sale on just a handful of left-over
merchandise.
Since we moved into the area six years ago, I'd always wondered how
it could stay in business with hardly any customers ever, and their
merchandise was always more expensive than the big chain supermarket
just nextdoor. Who would shop there? Apparently nobody!
Another sad ending of a little shop swallowed up by the big
guys. Now we have not one drug store within easy walking distance
from home. It's a lose-lose situation for both them and us.
