Marunouchi Brick Square (2010-07-01)

Strictly speaking, Marunouchi (kanji) Brick Square doesn't belong to oazo (but don't quote me on that), however it does nestle within the group of "browse-worthy" buildings in the area.

Entering into the complex with the brick exterior, you will soon be welcomed by a courtyard with a central fountain, trees, a small lawn (very rare in Tokyo) and ample benches.  There are a few sculptures in the grassy side, perhaps as a reminder that a small gallery is just steps away.

A restaurant that opens out into the courtyard looks like a good place to have lunch but we already ate ours at Papaya Leaf, so maybe next time.  We definitely need to return 'cause there are a number of shops we missed browsing.
