Not So Current Affairs- We Need Tourists Back (2011-06-05)

Touists were almost non-existent the week after the 3/11 Quake which is understandable.  With the radiation scare, foreign visitors are not returning as quickly as Japan needs them.  To the outsiders, the nuclear plant fallout must be very scary, what with exaggerated media reports and human nature's inclination to believe the worst.

Japan is safe to visit (if you keep out of the 20-km zone from Fukushima nuclear plant).  The Japanese government has implemented plans to convey that idea and to encourage tourists to come back including inviting (and paying for) workers in the tourist industry in foreign countries to visit Japan so that they can return to their home town and report to their countrymen.
