Kasairinkaikoen Park (2004-12-22)
I saw a big park by the bay in Tokyo on a map and decided to check it out with my friend. The park is called Kasairinkaikoen and the station where we got off to go there is actually named after it. The park is just one station before Maihama Station on JR Keiyo Line which is of course the station for Disney Resort (Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disneysea). At certain points of the park, the famous Disney castle can be seen in the background. The park is huge and spacious, yet looks bare. It has several
attractions inside such as the Bird-Watching area, the Aquarium, a pond
and a big Ferris Wheel etc. There are also a few docks inside the
park where people could catch a ferry to different parts of
Tokyo. The day we were there the sky was a brilliant blue and not
a cloud in sight which enabled us a clear view of Mount Fuji
afar. However there seemed to be a film of haze around the famous
mountain and it doesn't show up well on pictures. Despite the
blue sky, it was very cold and gusty winds were hitting us from all
directions so we fled after just over an hour.
The park would be a great place for someone who just wants to take a
leisure stroll or sit on the beach to look at the water on a warm sunny
day with no wind. If it's freezing and windy, forget it.
