Cheap Meal Great View (2006-11-27)
KL has to step away from his office and work a few hours in another company almost daily--this arrangement is part of a deal under the project he is working on. Anyway, this other company is located in a very tall building in Toyosu. The cafeterias which occupy the 22nd (called Bay Garden) and 23rd
(called Sky Garden) floor of that building is where KL has lunch.
The interior is clean, modern and bright. You buy a card from
one of the machines and debit the amount of your lunch from it at the
cashiers.
KL says the food is only so-so, but it is cheap (a set lunch usually
runs
between US$5-$7) and the view is unbeatable through the floor length
windows.
Unfortunately the building is only accessible by people with an
employee card. So unless you work in one of the many offices and
shops in the building, you cannot get to the cafeterias. So why
am I even telling you about them here?? If you do work in the
building, you'll have already known about the cheap fooding floors
unless you work as a mad scientist in the subterranean bunkers (not
that the building has subterranean bunkers) and didn't know there were
floors above you. But now you do, so you should really go to the
Sky Garden and eat a lunch set. Somewhere there is a point to
this rambling but it is long gone now. Oh Oh wait! So where
can I get a cheap meal in a comfortable
setting surrounded by a spectacular view in Tokyo? HOME. I
can eat
my meal looking at Daifoo!
