Easy Breezy Bulbs (2007-04-30)

Are all bulbs as easy to grow as daffodils?   All you need to do is to bury the bulbs for the first year, water and wait, and you'll be rewarded with beautiful flowers.  Once the blooms have died down, you don't need to do anything but wait for the stalks to dry up and wither.  Then you cut the brown stems off and forget about the bulbs.  The following late winter, new shoots will emerge from the soil miraculously and more daffodils in Spring.  The cycle just keeps repeating itself, so easy!

We planted tulips and freesias before too, but the tulips only lasted a season and the freesias were flowerless the third year though there were plenty of leaves.  Daffodils are the best!
