Udon Dinner (2007-05-21)

By the time we came back to Shinjuku (kanji) after DisneySea, it was past 9:30 pm.  Samuel craved soupy type food (preferably noodles) for dinner, and KL knew just where to take him.

Sangokuichi is an old-fashioned Japanese restaurant whose specialty is udon.  Samuel happens to like udon a lot, so it's a perfect place for him to have a late dinner.  I had wanted the Tempura Udon Samuel ordered, but the restaurant had just ONE prawn left so I got the Chicken Miso Udon while KL ordered Sukiyaki Beef Udon.

Our food came to the table in an iron pot piping hot.  The udon had a good chewy and bouncy texture which is very satisfying to chew.  My Chicken Udon had two very small pieces of chicken the size of half a pinky finger buried under a thick hunk of pumpkin.  They should have just named my dish Pumpkin Udon.

Thank you Samuel for picking up the bill.
