First Dinner In Osaka: Maido (2009-03-30)

We made arrangement to meet up with Serlina and David at a subway station which they happened to come across without trouble during their window shopping.  It's great to see them after a year and unlike us, they haven't gained a pound. >_<

Our dinner plan was to walk around and go to the one that caught our eye which subsequently brought us to the brightly-lit Maido, an izakaya-style restaurant.  About 90% of the patrons were salarymen having a post-work drink and snacks.  We on the other hand, went straight for the food!

Staff were all courteous (it's very hard to find rude waiters in Japan) and food was good, not mindblowingly great.  After dinner, we thought we would grab dessert in Dotonbori, the nightlife area in Osaka.

Serlina and David are not picky eaters, in fact I think the priority in their travel is shopping, not food.  They'd often go to the first restaurant they see and not bother looking around for more options.  So we hopped inside Coffee No Aoyama (kanji) as soon as we entered the major shopping street in Dotonbori.

Well, food wasn't that great.  David's waffles were dry and there's not much choice in the chill case.  My melon soda tasted like bubble gum which wasn't too impressive either.  Thankfully there's good company.
