Mount Fuji Trivia And Our Shopping (2011-06-16)

A trivia about Mount Fuji: when the patch of ice near the center top of the mountain melts to form a bird which local farmers refer to as noutori, it means it's time to plant rice.

Conclusion of our trip:  The best time to view Mount Fuji is winter when the air is clean and crisp.  The hotter it gets, the foggier the air becomes.  As you can see in the pictures I took, Mount Fuji is not as well defined as I'd like it to be.

Regret:  While we were in Kawaguchiko, shibazakura (pink flowers that resemble cherry blossom) viewing took place just half an hour away by bus near Lake Motosuko.  We thought about going but decided not to, but now I kinda regret that decision.  Perhaps next year....
