Cool Biz (2011-06-28)
Cool Biz is the term we've been seeing for past summers. It's about encouraging salarymen dress in lighter materials that help them stay cool.
This summer it's even more important for workers to stay super "cool
biz" as the government is urging the public to cut power by 15% due to
the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster and another one down south
completely shut off for fear of Fukushima-like disaster from future
tsunami.
Cool biz merchandise is ubiquitous and we get educated on how to save power on TV all the time. With stores and trains planning to set their temperature to 28C and trying to use just the fan to cool off at home, this summer's gonna be a hot one!
