Love Symbol (2005-06-17)
Japanese teenagers express their love to their boyfriend/girlfriend in a unique and interesting symbol. If you watch enough Japanese romantic drama or movies, you may have come across scenes in which young lovebirds write their names under a symbol made of a triangle at the top and a straight line runs down from its center, thus resembling an umbrella. It is their way of declaring their love for each other to the world.
Whether it is the western love symbol which depicts an arrow through
a heart or the Japanese umbrella icon I see on any wall or public
surface, only one message comes to mind: graffiti drawn by a bunch of
selfish idiots who had way too much time in their hands.
