Water Pump (2005-08-05)
Old-fashioned water pumps are easily found in temples and shrines, but to see one in the front yard of a house is rare. I happened to come across one near where we live and I have seen the owner use it. He was slogging that lever up and down in order to get water up and it didn't look like something he enjoyed doing very much.I wonder if the water this pump draws tastes better than tap
water? I also wonder if it is cheaper to pump your own
underground water like that? But I don't have to wonder that
getting water through that pump is a lot of work compared to simply
turning on
a faucet that we pumpless householders do.
