Sausage Drumsticks (2006-12-22)

I've seen restaurants serve sausages with a bone sticking out on their menu.  These sausages are easy to come by in big department stores' food market.  I thought of getting some home to try but never did due to...laziness?  I finally bought a pack from Takashimaya (kanji) Department Store.

I think they'll be fun to eat because of the built-in handle.  It's like eating a corn dog sans the batter (not that I like corn dogs).  But we didn't eat them the "fun" way.  I served them one night with roasted potatoes and veggies and we just cut the sausages into little pieces with a knife and fork which kinda defeats the purpose of the "handle".

The sausages were sooooo juicy and crunchy.  There was an obvious spiciness in the first few mouthfuls but then the heat mysteriously disappeared after awhile.  I never quite understand why that is.  The only drawback with the meaty links is the large amount of fat bits in them.  But I guess that's why the sausages were so juicy and flavorful.  As an occasional treat, these sausage drumsticks are perfect.
