Disrespectful Chinese (2004-08-05)
Being a soccer fan, I've been following the Asian Cup closely on TV.
I know mainland Chinese do not like Japanese very much, a
grudge the former holds against the latter from the war many years
ago, but uncivil Chinese soccer spectators really show their
contempt against Japan by jeering loudly whenever the Japanese
national anthem is played. The Chinese may be angry at what the
Japanese did to them over sixty years ago, but there is no reason to
project their anguish into a soccer match in a
tournament they no less host. A gracious host, China is not.
Come on people, show some class! Trashing another country's national anthem will not get your point across (if there even is one), it only demonstrates to the whole world what a bunch of crude bumpkins you are.
